  • Overview

    Provide hands-on written communications services and support for strategic communications and stakeholder engagement. As directed, develop quality, professional communications artifacts to include, but not limited to, program briefing decks, Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) documents, business memoranda, business/program e-mails, program SOPs, Technology Infrastructure Modernization (TIM) Division training materials, newsletters, marketing materials (presentations, brochures, white papers), press releases, outreach materials, and other written and/or graphic content.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide editorial, copyediting, proofreading, and formatting assistance on TIM Program documents, presentations, and files
    • Manage the TIM Comms. Inbox
    • Respond to or directing appropriately TIM e-mail in a timely fashion
    • Manage and update contact and TIM Program distribution lists
    • Organize and archive all incoming and outgoing e-mails, as necessary
    • Schedule all TIM Program meetings through the TIM Program Outlook Calendar and send appropriate invitations
    • Manage the filing and archiving of all TIM Program documents on the TIM iShare site, to include uploading documents, organizing/archiving folders, and creating guidance for users
    • Develop training materials (PowerPoint presentations, handouts, visual aids, manuals, job aids) for TIM Program activities and TIM System functionality

    Qualifications

    • Education:
      • B.A. or B.S. degree in English, Communications, or Journalism required
    • Required Knowledge/Experience:
      • 10 years progressively responsible experience in jobs that encompass writing, editing, marketing and/or communications skills
      • Experience in editing, proofreading, copyediting, and rewriting others’ work
      • Experience in creating original, professional communications content, to include but not limited to, policy statements, white papers, PowerPoint presentations, training materials, visual aids, newsletters, press releases, and annual reports
      • Possess expert skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and creation of professional documents using COTS graphic and formatting software
      • Possess working knowledge of iShare technology
      • Self-motivated and willing to "do what it takes" to get the job done
      • Strong leadership, team oriented, ability to multi-task, and personable
    • Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
      • M.A. preferred

    Other Responsibilities

    • Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of the department/contract
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Project Manager
